The Strathfieldsaye Community Carnival is on again this Sunday, 21 October 2018 from 10am until 2pm at the Strathfieldsaye hub, Blucher Street, Strathfieldsaye. See map.
Now in its third year, the carnival, which is hosted annually by the Strathfieldsaye & District Community Enterprise, will feature a market, live music and free children’s entertainment.
SDCE chair, Catherine Wilby said the carnival was fast becoming an important part of the district’s community event calendar.
“Strathfieldsaye and the surrounding towns form a vibrant district, with strong grassroots and community spirit,” said Ms Wilby.
“It’s important to celebrate our community and create opportunities for local residents to get together and form closer connections.
“We are in our third year of community celebration and we are so excited to make the Strathfieldsaye Community Carnival bigger and better than ever”.
The carnival will also be the finish point for the annual Strathfieldsaye Run, Walk, Roll community fun run, which starts at 10am at Triple M Park, Tannery Lane. See map.
Ms Wilby said SDCE was keen to promote Strathfieldsaye as an active community; one with ample opportunities to stay fit and healthy.
“Strathfieldsaye is home to kilometres of trails connecting the town’s community facilities and allowing families to safely walk, ride and stroll around the district’s beautiful bushland.
“The annual fun run encourages residents to explore the trails, kick-start healthy habits and have fun with their friends and neighbours.”
Spot prizes will be available for runners and walkers throughout the event and there will be plenty other opportunities to win at the carnival itself.
The carnival is possible thanks to the support of the SDCE, and its partners Bendigo Bank and Bendigo Telco, as well as sponsorships from McKean McGregor Real Estate and Bupa Bendigo.
