The board is seeking three individuals who live and/or work in the district, including surrounding townships, and have relevant skills, experience and characteristics to round out the board’s current skills-set and support diversity.

Expertise in one or more following areas is desirable:

  • Financial acumen
  • Information technology and digital capabilities
  • Educational competency or understanding of the education sector
  • Marketing and event management
  • Social media

The board is also seeking diversity; strongly encouraging applications from people of all ages, backgrounds and locations within the district.

SDCE Chair, Catherine Wilby said 2017 was an exciting junction for the Community Enterprise and wider community, with the district’s population likely to grow from 5,700 in 2016 to an estimated 13,000 by 2036.*

“Strathfieldsaye and the surrounding towns are growing rapidly, with new families moving to the area every day,” said Ms Wilby.

“Our Community Enterprise has an important role to play in this growth, helping to develop prosperous and connected communities by providing grants, sponsorships, advocacy and support to local community groups and projects to enhance the liveability of the area.

“In 2017, SDCE will build on its recent $1 million back to community milestone, seeking new projects from across the district and consulting with local residents and groups to ensure the community continues to flourish as it expands.

“I am eager to welcome new members to the board and support each of the new directors to play an active role in the future success of the community they call home.”

The SDCE catchment includes Axe Creek, Axedale, East Bendigo, Eppalock, Junortoun, Kennington, Mandurang, Redesdale, Sedgwick, Spring Gully, Strathdale, Strathfieldsaye and Sutton Grange.
